Late Nights Chair $1,900/year
Late Nights Chair plans and executes events happening during night hours. In order to bring fun events to campus for students to enjoy, late nights chair is responsible for researching companies and events, contacting vendors, advertising, and running those events. Collaborating with other chairs is beneficial for those who want to hold their events during night hours. Late nights allows you to be as creative as you'd like. To get the most out of this chair, one must be outgoing, know how to take charge, well organized and a people person.

Concerts Chair $1,900/year
As Concerts Chair, you will be responsible for planning and implementing music related events on campus including, but not limited to: open mic and karaoke nights, talent competitions, student band performances, trips to see concerts or musicals, and larger scale concerts such as the fall concert and Gullfest. With assistance from the Promotions Chair and Street Team, you will also be responsible for marketing your own events, which will include posting on social media, hanging flyers and chalking around campus, utilizing the golf cart, and handing out quarter sheet versions of the flyer. In addition to your duties relevant to Concerts, you'll also be responsible for assisting other executive board members with executing their events when you can, as they'll do the same for you. It's difficult, but rewarding work when your event becomes a success!

Talks & Topics Chair $1,900/year
This position is in charge of reaching out to various speakers and groups to come to campus to discuss a range of topics. Topics could be fun and light, such as having a workshop for how to design animated cartoons, or it could be more serious, like how to avoid human trafficking. There is a lot of room for creativity in choosing which speaker would be best for Salisbury University’s campus. Choice of speaker could depend on political issues that are occurring at the time or could correlate with a certain historically significant month (Black history month). The possibilities are endless!

Rec & Travel $1,900/year
The recreation and travel chair for SOAP is responsible for planning, as well as, delivering recreational, leisure, and sport activities both on and off campus. Bring creative ideas to the table in order to provide opportunities and encourage a fun and healthy lifestyle for all Salisbury University students. Must produce a date, time, place, contract info, etc. for each event. Submit an advertising request to promotions chair and come up with creative promotional ideas for selling tickets and getting people out to your event. Once tickets arrive, if applicable, count tickets and put in safe. Reserve and confirm transportation for all travel events. Make sure all payment needs are met. Will need to have proficient knowledge in team leadership and management skills and lastly, have fun.

Secretary $1,900/year
As secretary, treasurer and co-planner of variety events, you will be wearing the most hats. SOAP depends on you to keep the organization organized. Your tasks as secretary include taking notes during weekly executive board member meetings, sending out reminders for important dates and documenting any important information that may occur. As treasurer, you must pay attention to detail and have a keen eye for any changes that may occur in the budget. Keeping track of each chair's spending is imperative in order to stay within budget. Lastly, you will be working side by side with the president to plan and execute variety events such as giveaways, fundraisers and so much more.

Films Chair $1,900/year
The Films chairperson is responsible for deciding which movies to bring on campus. They have to see which movies would be a best fit for campus and the budget. They are in charge of executing the films properly which includes contacting the movie company and putting flyers up around campus. The Films chairperson gets to decide whether or not food or free giveaways will be at each film event. Also, the films chairperson gets to preview the movie before everyone else gets to watch it on campus.

As promotions chair you are in charge of all the marketing related to SOAP. Whether it is making posters, t-shirts, tickets, or posting on socials you let the student body know about all the events that SOAP puts on. As promotions you don't hold personal events yet you get to be an important part of every event and you can see your work all over campus.

Comedy Chair $1,900/year
The Comedy Chair is responsible for planning and carrying out comedy events, which include having stand-up comedians, magicians, hypnotists, etc. This position gives you the freedom to choose the comedians that you want to bring on campus. This job requires being able to communicate well and reach out to talent agents to find out the availability, pricing, and specific needs of chosen performers. There is a lot of back and forth communication between you and the agents, but they are usually super helpful and easy to work with! You also need to be able to problem solve and manage time wisely. This job is a lot of fun because you get to plan funny events! Students enjoy coming to the shows and being able to forget about work and just have a good time. It's also fun to meet the performers and sometimes they will even have meet and greets or teach you a magic trick or two!

President $2,500/year:
The president of SOAP has a variety of roles & responsibilities. It is crucial for the president to be aware of details for all events, and they should have past experience in SOAP to help identify potential problems before they occur. Variety events such as giveaways, holiday-themed parties, and fundraisers are also co-planned by the president and the secretary/treasurer. Also, the president and the graduate assistant are mainly responsible for helping to solve the problems SOAP faces. However, the president has room to be creative, both in planning variety events as well as reshaping the expectations & traditions of SOAP as a whole. Working to develop student involvement in SOAP, shaping the campus-wide brand into a positive image, and assisting in hiring/creating a cohesive executive board are but a few of the tasks handled by the president.

Summer ELI Activities Coordinators

Job Description: The Salisbury University English Language Institute is seeking applications for a Student Activity Coordinators for the summer English language program which runs from mid-July to mid-August (2-6 positions expected depending on enrollment in the summer English program). Non-native speakers of English come from around the world to study abroad in the summer at SU. Students take English classes each morning and are engaged in cultural activities in the afternoons and excursions on the weekends. After completing the program, most students return to their home countries and do not continue immediately into academic programs at SU. Student Activities Coordinators plan and coordinate cultural activities in the afternoon and weekends for summer ELI students and accompany students in the activities; support international students during their program with such cultural issues as food, cell phones, banking, and other simple life issues; help international students to have experiences that teach them about American life and culture. Activities coordinators must be available to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends from July 12-August 12; must be comfortable working with young adults who are non-native speakers of English and come from different cultures; must have a fun and outgoing personality to encourage foreign students to engage with the activities around them.

Are you a graduating senior from SU? Are you interested in sharing your story about your Salisbury experience? Do you love to travel? If so, Salisbury University’s Office of Admissions is looking for you! We are seeking candidates for multiple Admissions Recruiter positions. Share your SU experience with prospective students and develop your professional skills! Admissions Recruiters serve as representatives from University who speak with students, parents, and guidance counselors at high school visits, college fairs, and special recruitment events. The Office of Admissions seeks candidates with good communication and presentation skills, a strong work ethic and someone who takes initiative, the ability to work independently, and the energy and positivity to build relationships that lead to student enrollment. The Admissions Recruiter position is a five-month contract position for the fall 2017 semester. Admissions Recruiters work 29 hours per week. Compensation is $18/hour. Two admissions recruiters will represent the University in a specific geographic territory and are partnered with an experienced admissions counselor to plan travel and carryout specific projects. The designated geographic territories will most likely be New Jersey and New York/New England. The third recruiter will be in-house responsible for our daily information sessions, tracking visit numbers in our data base, and any additional recruitment projects. This position is a great opportunity for candidates to gain experience for careers in human resources, higher education, recruitment, or sales. Desired start for these positions is August 1st. Travel is required, as is a valid driver's license.
