Kelli Wilhelm (M.A. Literature) Gives Commencement
Address at Graduate Student Graduation
Wilhelm, an M.A. (Literature) student in our department,
will deliver the commencement address at Salisbury University’s
first-ever graduate student commencement ceremony, to be held
May 21st at 6pm at the Civic Center in Salisbury.
Wilhelm double majored in English and Psychology at Frostburg
State University (FSU) and received her B.S. from FSU in 2012.
She is completed a thesis under the direction of Dr.
Lucy Morrison that looks at projected self and domestic
critiques in nostalgic reactions to the French Revolution and
Napoleonic Wars as seen in William Wordsworth's "The Two-Part
Prelude," Lord Byron's "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, Canto III,"
Charlotte Smith's The Old Manor House, and Jane
Austen's Persuasion and as analyzed through Jean
Baudrillard's theory of the simulacra.
She will begin her Ph.D. in English at West Virginia
University this fall.
