SU Foundation to Purchase 8.5 Acres on Route 13

SUF Property Purchase

The Salisbury University Foundation’s Board of Directors recently approved the purchase of some 8.5 acres of land south of main campus on Route 13. The properties include the Court Plaza Shopping Center, home to several businesses; the former Temple Hill Motel, which is currently boarded up and closed; and 307 Kay Avenue, a commercial office building also in use. The purchase price is $6 million.

Salisbury University is notable for many reasons: its academics, stellar faculty and students, a successful athletic program, an invigorating fine and performing arts scene, and a sense of community that inspires the vital culture of giving that keeps the campus thriving.

The Salisbury University Foundation, Inc., which raises, invests and contributes funds to advance Salisbury's mission, has been instrumental in keeping the University on its upward trajectory. Private giving provides the crucial resources needed to enhance student life and academic excellence at SU.

This year marked the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Salisbury University Foundation, Inc. For years, the gifts of countless generous donors have enabled talented students to pursue an outstanding education and prepare for success in their careers and lives after graduation. Contributions have also supported our excellent faculty, research programs and other significant needs of the University.

We are grateful to our hard-working board of directors, our alumni and friends, the campus community, corporations, private foundations and other organizations that support the Foundation's mission. By helping give the gift of education to Salisbury students, our donors transform lives.

Thank you. You made a difference. Because of you, the University continues to be recognized as a special place where students can nurture their passions and turn their dreams into reality.
