An active partnership is critical to effective advising – and timely and successful completion of your college degree.

Declaring/Changing Your Major/Minor to a Fulton Program

The best time to change your major is before the Program Planning (advising) period! Many departments across campus will not process a Change of Major form during Program Planning, and will instead process these forms after the advising period. As a result, you may not be able to meet with a department advisor for your new major until the advising period has concluded for current majors.

Fulton advising sign-ups for Program Planning begin in October and March each semester. Please make sure your Change of Major request has been submitted to the appropriate Fulton department by the start of Program Planning.

Steps to Add a Fulton Major or Minor

Adding a Fulton Major
1. Research your new intended program – for more information on programs, see below.
2. Complete an Academic Record Update Request in GullNet (PDF instructions are available).
3. Check you email regularly for confirmation from the Registrar's Office or contact from the department.
4. When changing majors, a new advisor will be assigned by the new department as part of Academic Record Update process.
For the most effective advising, please submit your request before advising sign-ups for Program Planning (beginning of October in fall or March in spring).

1. Complete an Academic Record Update Request in GullNet (PDF instructions are available).
2. Once you've declared the minor, view your Academic Requirements Report for requirements.
3. No advisor is assigned for a minor. For guidance on a minor, please contact your advisor.

Credit Overload
For those wishing to enroll in more than 19 credits during fall/spring, more than 7 during winter, more than 9 during a summer session, please complete the following two forms. Note: you must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Registrar’s Form Request to Enroll in More Than a Normal Load
- Fulton Request to Enroll in More Than a Normal Load
Late Add, Drop, and Withdraw
Withdrawing from a Course after the Deadline

Students, with valid cause, requesting a W grade recorded after the University given deadline should follow these directions. The course remains on record for the term, with a W final grade (non-punitive for GPA). Students should contact Fulton Advising Services Coordinator John Anello.
