Social work is a profession devoted to helping people function the best they can in their environment. Social workers are people who care about people—who want to make a difference. The Online MSW Program at Salisbury University is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and offers students the opportunity to earn their degree online in a student-centered, supportive environment. The online program will follow a 20-student cohort model per year with fall admission only. All courses in the program will be offered in 7 week blocks, year round, allowing students to complete the program in 3 years. Students will be required to identify their field placement and communicate that information to the Field Director. Field Seminars are online and site visits will be performed via Skype.

Orientation for admitted students will be online and mandatory. The orientation must be completed by mid-August (an exact date will be communicated to enrolled students). It will include information on:

  • Navigating the Online Learning Management System
  • APA Formatting and Citation
  • Organizing and Writing Academic Papers

Students who are current full-time residents of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia or Pennsylvania only are eligible to apply.
