The Research and Faculty Development Committee would like to announce a Call for Research Proposals to support undergraduate research.

The Henson School Undergraduate Student Research Fund is intended to help support student undergraduate research conducted with a faculty supervisor. The grant money can be used for equipment, supplies and materials, photocopying, photography and preparation of slides or overheads for presentations, sample analysis at designated laboratories, and other appropriate research expenses. Grant awards can be made to an individual student more than once, but cannot cumulatively exceed $350 per student. The maximum award for multi-student projects will be as follows: 1 student = $350, 2 students = $600, 3 students = $750, 4 or more students = $800.

Students must have a declared major in the Henson School and be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) or a part-time student (minimum of 6 credit hours) during the project's duration. A full-time University faculty member must agree to serve as advisor to the project and ensure a final report is presented.

Note:  Students may only be listed as an author on one proposal per semester.

Application forms and guidelines are only available on-line at

Applications must be submitted digitally in PDF format (if you need help please ask your research advisor), with the appropriate form. Failure to follow instructions may void the application.  You will receive a confirmation email after you submit your proposal.  If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, you should assume that your proposal has not been submitted successfully.
