You can use the Classic Catalog to find books, e-books, and journals owned by SU Libraries and other libraries in the USM, as well as some Special Collections items unique to SU Libraries. The Classic Catalog does not allow you to search for individual journal or magazine articles.
Note: In most cases, you should use the SU Libraries Quick Search from the library homepage when looking for resources. Using Quick Search, you will find almost everything in the classic catalog, plus journal articles and other e-resources. The Quick Search will help you avoid doing multiple searches, however it may not show you every single item owned by SU Libraries.
Research Port lets you search databases by subject category. It also lists all of the e-journals that you have access to which are not actually owned by SU Libraries.
Note: In most cases, you should use our A-Z Database List instead of Research Port to find databases. To search across multiple databases, you should use the SU Libraries Quick Search from the library homepage, as it offers a more limited set of searching options. You can also use the native search interfaces of individual databases to access the most powerful searching capabilities.
Our A-Z Database List and Quick Search can be used both on and off campus.
