The library offers copyright consultations for SU faculty. These consultations can include assistance in determining if a specific use of a material meets the criteria for fair use, searching for appropriate alternative sources or means of distribution if it does not, as well as assistance in locating copyright holders and requesting permission to use materials when necessary. The library does not provide legal advice on copyright law, but can help faculty achieve the standard of care required when it comes to responsibly using materials in the Digital Age.
For more information please contact the Scholarly Communications Librarian, Laura Hanscom, and she will be happy to assist you! You can also find some more basic information on the library’s guide to copyright.
