SU Students Attend National Conference on Undergraduate Research

NCUR StudentsSALISBURY, MD---Some 36 Salisbury University students attended the 2018 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) at Oklahoma Central University in Edmond, OK.

“NCUR is the largest undergraduate research conference in the country for students to present their research projects, and we congratulate the SU students who were competitively selected to attend,” said Dr. Clifton Griffin, SU’s dean of graduate studies and research.

SU’s Office of Graduate Studies and Research and Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (OURCA) provided support for the students.   

According to OURCA’s co-directors, Drs. Chrys Egan and Jessica Clark, over 4,100 students from all 50 states and 19 other nations attended NCUR this year. Out of the 406 universities represented, SU was in the top 5 percent in terms of the size of its student delegation (18th largest). 

“We are proud of all the hard work that the students and their advisors have invested,” Egan said.

Student researchers included:  Valerie Abbot, Maria Abraham, David Bright, Sherry Corrine, Emily Cox, Austin Dabbs, Kayla Davis, Emma DePanise, Deanna Daugherty, Shannon Downes, Mary Foley, Jasmine Fuller, Jade Gomez, Olivia Husby, Jennifer Isacoff, Jessica Keister, Genevieve Kurtz, Samantha Labb, Alexis Larson, Grace Malcolm, Shannon McHenry, Jenna Miller, Julia Miller, Patrick Miller, Madeline Naumann, Rachel Pierson, Abhishek Purohit, Megan Rickards, Amanda Rocker, Kateria Rodriguez, Samuel Stevens, Shelby Stotelmyer, Cody Strouth, Arielle Tesoriero, Melissa Vaatlyn, Tara Ward and Leah Zachariah.
