Salisbury University recently celebrated the work of hundreds of faculty, staff and student employees during Employee Appreciation Day festivities on Wednesday, June 8. Some donned their favorite SU gear for events planned by the Staff Senate.
SU President Janet Dudley-Eshbach welcomed lunchtime guests to a free indoor picnic lunch in the Commons. (A second event was held that evening for night shift employees.) She recognized all of SU’s 2015-16 Employees of the Month ― and announced Bill Harris, athletic grounds coordinator in the Physical Plant, as Employee of the Year. The honor earned him a $1,000 check.
Dudley-Eshbach thanked everyone for their efforts throughout the year and their ongoing commitments to SU, highlighting hard work, sacrifices for the institution and concern for others. “It is that spirit that has helped build this University,” she said.
Staff Senators drew names for door prize winners. Gifts were donated from offices, departments and individuals across campus. In addition, the SU Bookstore announced a three-day employee discount on clothing and gifts. Employees also were offered a discounted $50 registration to this year’s Sea Gull Century.
