Salisbury University recently celebrated the work of hundreds of faculty, staff and student employees during Employee Appreciation Day festivities on Wednesday, June 7. Some donned their favorite SU gear for events planned by the Staff Senate.
SU President Janet Dudley-Eshbach welcomed lunchtime guests to a free lunch in the Commons. (A second event was held that evening for night shift employees.) She recognized all of SU’s 2016-17 Employees of the Month ― and announced Erin Silva, GIS project manager with the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative, as Employee of the Year. The honor earned her a $1,000 check.
Dudley-Eshbach thanked everyone for their efforts throughout the year and their ongoing commitments to SU, highlighting the institutional successes they helped make possible.
Staff Senators drew names for door prize winners. Gifts were donated from offices, departments and individuals across campus. In addition, the SU Bookstore announced an employee discount on clothing and gifts. Employees also were offered a discounted $50 registration to this year’s Sea Gull Century.
