Entrepreneurship Competition - Friday, May 11, 2018

SU alumnus Cody Revel won the $20,000 Bernstein Achievement Award for Excellence, the top prize in the Perdue School of Business’ 31st annual Entrepreneurship Competitions, for his business plan for The Athlete Academy. A recent graduate of the Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies, Revel opened the Salisbury-based business earlier this year. The academy specializes in fitness and training for children and young athletes.

Additional finalists for the Bernstein Award included Cupcakes by Frosted, an Ocean City, MD, cupcake bakery founded by freshman management major Lindsay Jones; Valkyrie Software Solutions, a digital technology company proposed by sophomore computer science major Cameron Kane to produce software that assists video gamers with audio impairment; and JK3 Technology, proposed by senior information systems major Joseph Palmer to manufacture an LED lighting system to help reduce eye strain during video gaming.

A record 51 teams, representing each of SU’s academic divisions, entered this year’s competitions, with a total prize pool of over $100,000.
