From an intimate audience with a Broadway actress to the chance to find out what other moms serve in their kitchens, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and siblings visiting their students at Salisbury University spent much of Family Weekend discovering just how special SU is. Events began Friday with a golf tournament and perfect weather. The sunshine continued on Saturday as some 2,600 fans flocked to Sea Gull Stadium to see the SU football team take on Route 13 rival Wesley College, with many stopping by the post-game social sponsored by the SU Parent and Family Association for fresh pie and cider.
Family members had the opportunity to sit in on classes, tour the new Teacher Education and Technology Center, and have brunch with President Janet Dudley-Eshbach and other SU administrators. Students demonstrated their best dance moves in Holloway Hall Auditorium during the Family Weekend talent showcase, while parents got to demonstrate their best recipes during the annual Recipes From Home Dinner. Younger siblings weren’t left out, as SU hosted a Fall Festival on campus, complete with pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating.
