Content Management System
You may be aware that in fall 2014 the University purchased a comprehensive software solution for managing the content on our public facing web pages. [more]

The software solution was necessary because the technology that supports and allows the use of Front Page, SharePoint Designer 2007, and Expression Web to manage websites has reached its end-of-life and has been phased out by Microsoft.

In October 2013, SU began the RFP process, and following a thorough search, Hannon Hill's Cascade Server software was selected as the web Content Management System (CMS). We thank the members of RFP committee - Lee Howeth, David Raizen, Michele Nelson, and Chris Woodall - along with SU's Chief Information Officer, T. Simeon Ananou, D.Ed., and the staff in the Information Technology and Purchasing departments for their diligence and hard work.

Website Content Management System Update and Training

The website content management System (CMS) implementation is progressing quickly. Please view the CMS FAQ page for more information about this transition: http://www.salisbury.edu/weboffice/cms/faqs.html

Training classes are available next week and more will be scheduled soon. Please visit this page to sign up: https://webapps.salisbury.edu/cms/  (login required).

In the meantime, it is very important to take a good look at your site and decide what content is no longer needed or wanted. This includes:

  • Entire folders or sub-sites
  • Web pages
  • PDF documents
  • Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Images
  • Web applications (surveys, signup, rsvps, request information, etc. - i.e. any page with a "Submit" button.)

Once you have decided, feel free to delete those files and folders. If you need assistance, please enter a request in our work request tracking system:

https://webapps.salisbury.edu/webrequest

Please forward this to anyone you supervise who will need the training. Thank you for your attention.
