BFA Portfolio
In order to enter the B.F.A. program the student must submit a portfolio of 10 examples of their artwork. Currently, we use the portfolio review as a way of assessing student capabilities as they enter the program. This helps faculty identify strengths and weaknesses of incoming students. While it is necessary to submit a portfolio to declare or switch to the B.F.A. major, portfolio submission status will not keep students from enrolling in individual courses. However, submitting the portfolio as early as possible is the best way to ensure good, accurate academic advising.
Submission Process
- Go to salisbury.slideroom.com, and 'sign up' for a SlideRoom account if you don’t already have one. Then, at the bottom of the page, go to either the “Current Students” program (if you’re a current student switching your major or degree to BFA), or else the “Incoming Students” program (if you’re an incoming first year or transfer student. You should be ready with 10 digital images of your artwork, along with information like the title, medium, size and date of the works in your portfolio.
- Current students who are switching their major to B.F.A. must also go the online Major Change Form (login required). Once you fill out the form on line, you still need to print it and bring it to the Art Office, Fulton Hall 200.
