Undergraduate Research Fellows
Interested in joining OURCA and earning a $300 stipend each semester? Apply to become an Undergraduate Research Fellow! OURCA is currently accepting applications for Undergraduate Research Fellows until May 24th, 2024. Applicants should fill out the URF application form.
Undergraduate Research Fellow Duties:
- Attend monthly meetings
- Coordinate and host pop-up events to make students aware of opportunities through the office
- Coordinate and host workshops on research and creative activity related topics (i.e., making a poster, applying for funding, staring research).
- Posting information on OURCA social media (Facebook and Instagram)
- Creating Social Media Content
- Support OURCA sponsored events by helping to create and distributing materials or staffing the registration table.
- Represent at OURCA at OURCA-sponsored and university events (See below)
University-Wide Events
- Salisbury University Student Research Conference (SUSRC) Open houses
- Scholars Day
- Admitted Students Day
OURCA-Sponsored Events
- National Conference of Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
- Posters on the Bay
- The academic journal Laridae
*** This work comes with a $300/semester stipend and close work with other accomplished students and faculty
In addition to these regular responsibilities, URFs need to be available for a few dates during the semester for various activities. These activities can vary by semester and of course, some may be virtual this semester. You will always know about each activity in advance and URFs will sign up for events so that the responsibilities are evenly distributed. Past activities include:
Introducing Salisbury University's Undergraduate Research Fellows (URF), ambassadors and mentors for student research and creative activity. - Connect undergraduate students with the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (OURCA), Graduate Studies and Research, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Provide input on student needs toward the development of initiatives to grow and support undergraduate research and creative activities
- Serve as student ambassadors and role models
