Abby (she/her)
Abby is a senior from the small town of New Freedom, Pennsylvania, majoring in Psychology. Last semester, she was inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Outside of class, Abby enjoys hiking, reading, crocheting, and spending time with loved ones. In the future, she hopes to become a clinical psychologist and make a meaningful difference in the community.

Albi (she/her)
Albi is a sophomore from Eden, Maryland, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science and History. She is an ambassador for the Clarke Honors College, a Sea Gull Circle Peer Mentor, and a middle school math tutor. Outside of school, Albi loves spending time with family and listening to music while walking, letting her imagination run wild. Though unsure of what she wants to do after college, she is a constant lover of learning and hopes to experience the world.

Alysa (she/her)
Alysa is a senior from Ellicott City, Maryland. She is majoring in Elementary Education, and hopes to teach 3rd grade after she graduates. Alysa loves to be outside, spending most of her time split between either the woods or in the kitchen, as she loves to bake too. She loves reading (any genre, really) and creative writing.

Ella is a senior originally from Catonsville, Maryland majoring in English Literature with a minor in Global and Ethnic Literature. Outside of class you will find her on her yoga mat or on the beach! Upon graduating she plans to continue her education to teach English as a second or other language in hopes of teaching English abroad.

Emma is a sophomore from Greencastle, Pennsylvania. She is majoring in Secondary English Education with a minor in Deaf Studies. On campus, Emma is a member of Girls on Top and the Hatchery. Emma enjoys watching shows and movies with friends and reading books outside of classes. She hopes to begin crafting more this semester and working on creative writing.

Janna is a junior from Elkton, Maryland. At SU, she is majoring in English on the Writing & Rhetoric track. Outside of class, she enjoys reading visual novels, watching animal videos, and learning about scams and high-control religious groups.

Jenna K. (she/her)
Jenna is a junior from Laurel, Maryland, majoring in English on the Writing and Rhetoric track, with a minor in Mechanical Engineering. On campus, Jenna is a member of the Clarke Honors College and plays club volleyball, as well as participating in intramural volleyball leagues when she can. Off campus, Jenna loves reading, writing, and spending time outside. When she graduates, Jenna hopes to bridge her two passions and possibly pursue a career in technical writing or a similar field.

Josey is a senior from Cumberland, Maryland. She is majoring in Marketing, and minoring in entrepreneurship with dreams of opening a bookstore one day. Josey is a member of the Clarke Honors College and is a part of the Fraud and Forensic Accounting program within the Perdue School of Business. Outside of class time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her horse, reading novels, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Katie is a junior from Mount Airy, Maryland. She is a member of the Clarke Honors College and a double major in Geography and International Studies with a minor in Spanish. Outside of classes, Katie enjoys spending time with her friends, caring for her plants, and going to concerts. After college, Katie's plans are open-ended with hopes of working in a governmental/political field.

Logan is a junior from Delmar, Delaware, majoring in English - Secondary Education. Logan spends her free time with her family, at the beach with friends or shopping. She loves Shirley Temples and her cat, Chewy. After graduation, she hopes to teach young minds!

Logan is a junior from Princess Anne, Maryland. She's an Honors student majoring in health sciences with a minor in disability studies hoping to pursue a career in pediatric occupational therapy. She's an Honors Ambassador, writes for The Saunterer in her free time, and an active member of Girls on Top. Her hobbies include mindlessly pestering her roommates, re-reading the same books she's already read a hundred times, and starting creative projects she probably won't finish.

Matt is a junior from Baltimore, Maryland, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Statistics. He is aiming to get into a Ph.D. program for clinical psychology following graduation, and his eventual goal (after many years of school and work) is to become a child forensic psychologist. Apart from academics, Matt enjoys reading, cooking, spending time with friends, and lots of napping.

Alex (she/her)
Alex is an MSW student from Taneytown, MD. She is currently studying social work and hopes to someday become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. After graduation, she hopes to work with individuals with special needs and become an advocate for disability rights. In her free time, she loves to read and watch movies, as well as spend quality time with her friends and family.

Anna earned her BA from SU in English Secondary Education and is currently in the MA in English Literature program. In her free time, Anna loves reading, writing, and watching scary movies. After graduation, she hopes to be a high school English teacher.

Darien (they/them)
Darien is a graduate student currently pursuing a MA in English Literature, originally obtaining their BA in English Literature from SU as well. They spend most of their free time gaming and writing both critically and creatively. They plan to eventually get a PHD and teach Japanese Literature at the college level.

Faith (she/her)
Faith Thompson is a doctoral student in the Literacy Studies department. She has a Masters of Arts in Teaching, Secondary Education. Faith currently teaches high school students during the school year, and trains pre-service teachers over the summer with Teach for America. While writing center work is her academic passion, she also enjoys exploring cities with her husband, playing with her cats, and getting literary-inspired tattoos!

Holly is a graduate student working on her MA in Composition and Rhetoric so that she can continue teaching writing at the college level. Originally from south Jersey, she is a "transplant" here and is now, more or less, an SBY local. In her free time, Holly enjoys art, nature, reading, and cooking. She hopes to take her husband and two kids around the world on some adventures sometime soon.

Jeff (he/him)
Jeff is a graduate student in the English Department's Composition and Rhetoric program. He teaches English 103 and is writing his thesis on feelings of social comfort and student engagement in first-year composition classrooms. Jeff is married to an SU graduate (Chelsea Dean, Theatre) and father to Will, Parkside High School, Class of 2025. Jeff's first career was in journalism and his second career was in EMS/Firefighting.

Lauren is a doctoral student in SU's Literacy Studies program. She holds a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Composition and is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Costa Rica ‘13-‘15). She enjoys listening to podcasts, cycling through Peloton rides, cooking new recipes, and hanging at the beach and boardwalk with her family.

Ben (he/him)
Ben is a junior here at Salisbury University. He is a Perdue student figuring out what field of business he is passionate about. In his free time, he enjoys longboarding and hanging out with friends. He is also very passionate about music. He plans on graduating from Salisbury and finding a job he loves.

Jenna S. (she/her)
Jenna is a senior from Easton, Maryland, majoring in social work. When she's not busy with school work, she enjoys filling her time with reading, knitting, and watching movies/tv shows with her cat (yes, her cat actually watches tv!). Some of her favorite shows include Breaking Bad, New Girl, and Cowboy Bebop. After college Jenna hopes to find a job in one of the many areas of Human Services.

Dr. Melissa Bugdal (she/her)
Dr. Melissa Bugdal is an Associate Professor of English and the Director of the University Writing Center. She has a PhD in English from the University of Connecticut, and loves being back on the Eastern Shore (she got her MA in Composition and Rhetoric from SU)! Dr. B first became interested in writing center work as an undergraduate peer consultant at Wilkes University while also working in a biology lab studying the food behaviors of eastern gray squirrels. As a result of her own interdisciplinary experiences, Dr. B's work focuses on writing knowledge transfer and writing across the curriculum. When she's not teaching or in the UWC, Dr. B enjoys being outside, reading, watching sports, and taking her dog Elli along on adventures.

Dr. Beth Towle (she/her)
Dr. Beth Towle is an Assistant Professor of English and the Associate Director of the Writing Center at Salisbury University. She received her Ph.D. in English from Purdue University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Towle absolutely loves being in writing centers, and her work focuses on how writing centers fit into larger institutional networks, as well as how writing centers can advocate for marginalized students. When she's not teaching or in the writing center, Dr. Towle reads novels and fan fiction, writes poetry about 19th century Indiana marshland, listens to podcasts, and hangs out with her six-toed cat, Grayson.

Nancy Holton (she/her)
Nancy Holton is the Academic Program Specialist in the Writing Center. She earned her BA in English and MA in composition and rhetoric from Salisbury University. In her free time, Nancy enjoys yoga, audiobooks, and playing with her two cats, Penelope and Macaroni.
