Training

Training can lead to better outcomes for both individuals and organizations.

  1. Skill Development: It helps individuals acquire and enhance the skills needed for specific tasks or roles. This can include technical skills, soft skills, or industry-specific knowledge.
  2. Performance Improvement: Training can boost performance by addressing gaps in knowledge or abilities. Well-trained employees are generally more efficient and effective in their roles.
  3. Adaptation to Change: In rapidly evolving fields, ongoing training ensures that people stay current with new technologies, methodologies, or regulations. This adaptability is essential for remaining competitive and compliant.
  4. Employee Satisfaction: Training can lead to increased job satisfaction, as employees feel prepared and equipped. This can improve morale and reduce turnover.
  5. Consistency and Quality: Training helps maintain consistency in processes and quality standards, which is important for organizational reliability and customer satisfaction.
  6. Safety and Compliance: In many industries, training is essential for ensuring safety and meeting legal or regulatory requirements. Proper training helps prevent accidents and legal issues.

Required Employee Trainings

At Salisbury University we have in-house mandatory training and mandatory training issued by the state. Please use the resources below to view the training requirements. These will also be sent to you via email at the appropriate time.

Please note: The Public Ethics Law requires new financial disclosure filers to receive two hours of Ethics training within six months of being required to file. The training covers all areas of the Public Ethics Law but focuses mainly on conflicts of interest and standards of conduct.  Failure to complete the mandatory training requirement will result in the action the authority deems appropriate. Additionally, the State Ethics Commission may publish on its web site the names of those individuals who have not completed the mandatory training.

Training Resources

Along with professional development opportunities SU provides electronic training resources to help employees stay relevant and engaged. Throughout the year training opportunities are offered for employees to participate in to increase their knowledge in particular areas and sharpen their skill sets.
