The Salisbury University GullFluencer Program allows dedicated and involved students to showcase the SU experience on the institution's social media platforms. This hands-on learning opportunity enables students to contribute to SU's digital marketing objectives while enhancing expertise in social media marketing strategies, crafting compelling content, and the art of storytelling.

In this capacity, you'll...

  • Generate concepts for social media content across various platforms like Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn. This will include not only University-wide initiatives, but also represents SU's colleges, schools, organizations, and other areas. 
  • Collaborate with fellow GullFluencers and the University’s Marketing and Communications team to contribute to the content schedule.
  • Reach out to campus departments and individuals to gather information.
  • Engage hands-on in content creation, crafting captions, capturing images, and filming brief videos.
  • Acquire fundamental skills in social media management.
  • Evaluate the impact of posts on distinct social media platforms and disseminate these insights within the team.
  • Infuse your student perspective and voice to spotlight student life, activities, and experiences.

  • Maintain an active presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and/or X (formerly known as Twitter) or other relevant platforms.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in language and conduct in content for university accounts.
  • Be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.
  • Display evident leadership qualities and potential.
  • Communicate effectively within a team environment.
  • Possess knowledge about Salisbury's campus services and facilities.
  • Show enthusiasm for sharing Sea Gull pride with others.
  • Regularly attend weekly meetings.
  • Agree to comply with all social media guidelines during assigned tasks.

The time you can expect to commit will consist of...

  • Weekly group meetings will be held to review content and provide updates on assignments.
  • Collaborative efforts with fellow GullFluencers to work on assignments.
  • Dedicate up to 5-10 hours per week for social media tasks, with potential attendance at university events for specific assignments.

How To Apply

To apply for Salisbury University's GullFluencer Program, students should submit a video application to marketing@salisbury.edu. In the video, applicants must introduce themselves, stating their name, degree, graduation year, and campus involvement. They should also discuss their interests, particularly in social media, photography, or videography, and explain why they believe they would be an excellent fit for the GullFluencer Program. Additionally, applicants can highlight any relevant experience or skills and provide any other information they deem pertinent. If available, students are encouraged to include a portfolio of their work to showcase their talents and experience.
