Welcome to Salisbury University! Our beautiful campus offers you the ideal environment to build your foundation for long term success in your career. The Career Services team is here to help you throughout your time in college and even post- graduation.
It’s never “too soon” to start visiting Career Services. The world’s most successful people will tell you it all starts with a plan and a vision for your future. While some of you will enter the world of work after graduation, some of you will go directly to graduate or professional school and some of you will take a “gap year" or “service year.” . Career Services is a part of your student success team that will help you experience all that this great university and great college town has to offer.
As a first year student we have devised a simple check list based on the latest research to help you get started.
Let’s Get Started!
- Establish relationships with your Academic Advisor and Career Services Staff by scheduling a 30 minute meeting to discuss current goals in your academic and career paths. Still deciding on a major? No problem, we have specialized resources ready to help you.
- Explore what you can do with various majors and utilize occupational overviews.
- Activate your CareerGulls account to schedule appointments with a career counselor, begin connecting with employers, and sign up to attend workshops and career events.
- Get involved by joining a club or organization related to your career interests or through volunteering in the community
- Look into the possibilities of Study Abroad or Study Away opportunities early. Most opportunities should be taken advantage of in your Sophomore or Junior year.
- Consider taking our Career Planning Course that is ideal for first and second year students.
