Real World Applications" Was Subject of LSMN Workshop for High School Students

SALISBURY, MD--The Lower Shore Manufacturing Network's Student Career Development at Salisbury State University recently organized a day of "Real World Applications" for students from Washington High and Mardela Springs high schools.

The students toured MaTech, Salisbury State's computer labs and VPI Mirrex. The tours intoduce the students to the opportunities available on the Eastern Shore. The companies also benefit from this program by showing students the work environment and packages they offer to qualified workers.

The objective of the Student Career Development program is to create a partnership between regional schools and local manufacturing cpompanies to develop a future workforce. As a result of this program several students were offered work-to-school internships.
