Author Zach Powers Concludes Fall Writers on the Shore Series
SALISBURY, MD---Author Zach Powers concludes Salisbury University’s fall Writers on the Shore series with readings from his works 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, in the Worcester Room of the Commons.
The Washington Post included his first short story collection, Gravity Changes, on its summer reading list for 2017, the same year it won the BOA Short Fiction Prize. Publisher’s Weekly called the book an “engaging collection [that bends] the laws of physics and fiction to leave lasting impressions.”
His debut novel, First Cosmic Velocity, is scheduled for publication by Putnam in 2019.
Powers’ work has appeared in journals including Black Warrior Review and PANK. The co-founder of the literary arts non-profit Seersucker Live, he also manages marketing at The Writer’s Center. In addition, his television writing and editing has garnered him four regional Emmy awards.
