A paper by Dr. Jennifer Brannock Cox, associate professor of communication arts, recently placed first in the Participatory Journalism Interest Group Division at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication’s annual conference.
Co-authored with Dr. Mark Poepsel of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, the paper, “Deep Participation in Underserved Communities: A Quantitative Analysis of Hearken’s Model for Engagement Journalism,” marked their second win in two years.
