Screening of 'Mankiller' and Discussion With Producer, Director Nov. 17
SALISBURY, MD---As part of its annual Native American History Month celebration, Salisbury University presents a virtual screening of the documentary Mankiller 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 17.
Following the film, director and producer Valerie Red-Horse Mohl hosts a question-and-answer session.
The documentary celebrates the life of Wilma Mankiller, the first woman elected Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. During her administration from 1985-95, the Cherokee government enhanced medical care and educational programs for its people while developing revenue programs including retail stores, restaurants and more.
