SU Hosts Virtual Spring Creative Writing Reading Series

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University students and alumni, accomplished writers, editors and more read from their works during SU’s Creative Writing Virtual Reading Series this spring.
All readings are 8 p.m. on selected Wednesdays starting February 17 and are held via Zoom.
Presenters include:
- February 17 – Kathryn Merwin is a writer from Washington, D.C. Her work has appeared in Hayden’s Ferry, Puerto del Sol, and Blackbird. She holds an M.F.A from Western Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in English from SU. Her first collection, Womanskin, is available from CutBank Books.
- March 10 – Drs. Ryan Habermeyer, John A. Nieves, Christine Spillson and John Wenke, SU English and creative writing faculty, read from their works, and answer questions about their writing and publishing and SU’s creative writing track.
- April 7 – Charlotte Covey earned her bachelor’s degree in English from SU and her M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She has poetry published or forthcoming in journals including The Normal School, Salamander Review, and Potomac Review. She is a contributing editor for River Styx.
- April 28 – Current SU students read selections from their work published in the 2021 edition of Scarab, SU’s literary journal. To register, visit the event page.
