SU Celebrates Recent Faculty Successes

Holloway HallSALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University celebrates the following recent faculty successes:

Three Named 2021 Green Earth Book Award Judges

Drs. Cathrene Connery, Patty Dean and Elaine O’Neal, faculty in Salisbury University’s Early and Elementary Education Department, have been named judges for the 2021 Green Earth Book Award.

The judging panel represents environmental and educational organizations in private industry, non-profit associations and governmental natural resource agencies, as well as university professors and elementary school teachers.

Presented annually by the Nature Generation, the national prize honors books that best inspire young readers to appreciate and care for the environment. Winners in four categories — picture book, children’s fiction, young adult fiction, and children’s and young adult nonfiction — will be announced on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22.

Myers’ Video Dance Selected for MSCA Exhibition

“Take Two Knees,” a video dance by Helen Myers, assistant professor and director of the SU Dance Program, was selected for the Maryland State Arts Council’s juried virtual exhibition “Identity.”

Exploring the cultural, social, gender and racial intersection of multiple identities while honoring self-reflections of Maryland artists, the exhibition is available online through Tuesday, April 6.

Shipper Contributes to Oxford Bibliographies

By invitation, Dr. Frank Shipper, professor emeritus of management and marketing, recently contributed an annotated bibliography on employee ownership to the online research hub Oxford Bibliographies.

Co-authored with Dr. Joseph Blasi, J. Robert Beyster Distinguished Professor at the Rutgers University School of Management, the work was previewed at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations’ Louis O. Kelso Fellows mid-year workshop. The presentation is available online.
