SU Co-Hosts One Maryland, One Book Events
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University co-hosts Maryland Humanities’ 2021 One Maryland One Book Tour with two events in September and October.
SU faculty discuss The Book of Delights by Ross Gay, 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 30, in the Guerrieri Academic Commons Assembly Hall. Participants include Drs. Edward Brown (Art), Stephanie Bernhard (English), John Nieves (English) and Christine Spillson (English). Dr. Maarten Pereboom, dean of SU’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts, moderates.
SU co-hosts a virtual discussion with Gay 1 p.m. Sunday, October 3. Other co-hosts include Wor-Wic Community College, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Wicomico County Libraries and Worcester County Libraries. Participants may join by Zoom or meet at the Assembly Hall.
The Book of Delights is about shared bonds and the rewards that come from a life closely observed. These serve as a powerful and necessary reminder that humanity can, and should, stake out a space in individual lives for delight.
Free copies of the book are available from the Fulton School.
All attendees at Salisbury University events are required to wear a mask while in the audience, regardless of vaccination status. Attendees may be asked to leave an event for non-compliance.
All attendees must complete an online COVID-19 screening on the day of their visit, prior to coming to the SU campus.
Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass online.
