SU Hosts 'The State's Sexuality' Book Talk October 8
By SU Public Relations
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Fulton Public Humanities Program hosts a book talk with author Jeong-mi Park 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, in Conway Hall Room 153.
Park is the author of The State's Sexuality: Prostitution and Postcolonial National Building in South Korea, exploring complex dynamics of women involved in prostitution in South Korea.
Despite marginalization, these women have played a strategic role in postcolonial nation-building efforts. The South Korean state has excluded sex workers from citizenship while using their labor for national security, development and the formation of a gender-specific citizenry.
Co-sponsored by the Political Science Department and International Studies Program, admission is free and the public is invited.
For more information visit the Fulton Public Humanities webpage.
Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass.
