African-American Brown Bag Luncheons

SALISBURY, MD--- As part of African-American History Month celebrations at Salisbury University, the public is cordially invited to two brown-bag lunchtime talks in the Guerrieri University Center.

The first is Friday, February 15, at noon in Nanticoke Room A. Dr. Dean Kotlowski, a member of the SU History Department, speaks on "The Presidency and Civil Rights: Richard Nixon's Record."

The second is Friday, February 22, also at noon in Nanticoke Room A. Dr. Stephen Gehnrich, a member of the SU Biology Department, speaks on "African-Americans in World War I."

The Office of Multiethnic Student Services sponsors the Brown Bag Lunch Discussion Series. Other African-American History Month activities include:

"Researching our Roots: History and Genealogy," a presentation by Dr. Clara Small of the history faculty and historian David Briddell, on Tuesday, February 12, at 7 p.m. in the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture, in the Power Professional Building;

A lecture titled "The Color Line Revisited: Is Racism Alive in Education?" by Dr. Bradley Skelcher of Delaware State University, on Monday, February 18, at 8 p.m. in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center;

A talk on "Powernomics: The National Plan to Empower Black America," by Dr. Claud Anderson, executive director of the Harvest Institute, on Monday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. also in the Wicomico Room.
