Glover is New Small Business Development Center Consultant

SALISBURY, MD---The Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) an affiliated organization of Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, announces the appointment of Karl W. Glover, CPA, as a business consultant. Glover holds a B.S. in finance and accounting from Gannon University and a master’s in management from Carnegie Mellon University. He recently retired from the Internal Revenue Service where he served as a domestic and international revenue agent, an appeals officer and most recently, a management/program analyst in the Business Liaison Department of the Communications & Liaison Division in Washington, D.C. His responsibilities, in addition to managing the IRS Advisory Council, included serving as a stakeholder liaison producing two of the IRS’ Small Business Resource Guide CD-ROMS and an Alternate Dispute Resolution CD-ROM. Prior to serving in the IRS, Glover was a certified public accountant in private practice and owned and operated a retail and wholesale boat dealership and marina. He developed his retail marine dealership into one of the most successful in western Pennsylvania, receiving awards from suppliers including the Chrysler and Brunswick corporations for excellence in sales, customer service and management. The extensive practical business knowledge acquired from developing his own companies and auditing numerous types of businesses while a CPA in the private sector and at the IRS is now available through the SBDC counseling services for those who want to start or improve a business, or secure additional capital for expansion.
