Guerrieri Art Space Presents 'Old Ideas' Exhibit through Thursday, April 19

GSU Art Space Logo SALISBURY, MD---The Guerrieri Student Union Art Space hosts the photography exhibit “Old Ideas” by Salisbury University senior art major Tyler Henson of Rockville, MD, through Thursday, April 19.

“My work is something that I’m never not doing,” he said. “It’s the art of capturing the mundane and ordinary in a way that interests me.

“To be able to look at something that you may see every day, and appreciate it for the simple fact that it represents something that goes unnoticed is what drives me to explore the depths of photography. Often times when the most unnoticed things are brought together they become something noticeable, something that is appreciated and something that is loved. That is what captures me most.

“The aim in my art at present is to highlight the fundamental components of photography. Components like shadow, light, form and color, allowing them to become the photo instead of letting them make up what the photo is.

“Although a lot of my inspiration comes from a higher power, I also get inspired by people like Roy Decarava, and the way Edward Weston thinks intrigues me. What I want the viewer to take away is that even the most mundane things can have a purpose for a much bigger picture.”

The Art Space is located in the Guerrieri Student Union’s second-floor concourse. Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6247 or visit the Art Space website at https://www.salisbury.edu/guc/artspace.
