Native American Expert Helen Rountree Speaks November 9

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Celebrating National American Indian Heritage Month, Dr. Helen Rountree, renowned Native American expert, speaks on "Living Gently on the Land: Eastern Shore Indians’ Use of Natural Resources" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, in the Worcester Room of the Commons at Salisbury University.

class=""MsoNormal"">This year’s Washburn Distinguished Lecturer in American History, Rountree focuses on the resourcefulness of Native Americans in their uses of land and water in the region. Rountree is a retired faculty member of Old Dominion University and author of several books about the Powhatan Indians of Virginia. 

class=""MsoNormal"">The Washburn Distinguished Lecture honors the late colonial scholar Wilcomb E. Washburn through an endowment from the William H. Donner Foundation, Inc., of New York.
