'Neverwhere' Exhibit Features Rubin Works August 27-October 6
SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University Galleries presents the mythical and fantastical works of ceramic artist Tammie Rubin during the exhibit “Neverwhere” August 27-October 6 in the Atrium Gallery of the Guerrieri University Center.
An artist talk with Rubin is 5 p.m. Thursday, September 6, followed by a reception from 6-8 p.m.
Her sculptures explore chimerical creatures, contraptions and assemblages. The designs often refer to conical forms that imply communication, including megaphones, caution cones, gramophones and satellite dishes. Her works have been exhibited throughout the United States, including Indiana’s Indianapolis Art Center and the Seattle Design Center in Washington State.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon-5 p.m. Friday-Saturday, other times by appointment. Admission is free and the public is invited.
