SU Nursing Department Hosts 'Five Wishes' Workshop Tuesday, Aug. 2
SALISBURY, MD---Studies show only about half of adults in the United States have a document for directions on getting the care they want should they become seriously ill.
Developed by the national non-profit organization Aging With Dignity, Five Wishes is a legal document written in everyday language that allows adults to plan for those instances. Salisbury University’s Nursing Department presents a Five Wishes advance directives workshop 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, in the Worcester Room of the Commons.
Each participant receives a Five Wishes booklet and will be invited to complete a research survey on the workshop. This study has been approved by SU’s Committee on Human Research. Participants will be entered into a drawing for five $25 Visa gift cards. Refreshments will be served.
Admission is free, but reservations are required by Tuesday, July 26. Workshop participants must be at least age 18. Handicapped-accessible parking is available.
To reserve a space or for more information call Dr. Katherine Hinderer at 410-543-6417, or e-mail kahinderer@salisbury.edu or pafrubin@yahoo.com.
