SU PRESTO Students Perform in Recital December 13

SALISBURY, MD---Students taking lessons through Salisbury University’s PRESTO performing arts outreach program share their talents during recitals at 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.

The students range in age from 9-18 and in ability from beginner to advanced. They perform piano, violin, viola, cello, percussion and voice works. Selections include “Preludio” from J.S. Bach’s Violin Partita in E major, “Allegro Maestoso” from Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Vivaldi’s “E minor Cello Sonata” and “Schroeder” from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown by Clark Gesner.

Students represent PRESTO instructors including Karen Niedfeldt, Bobbie Thamert, Burt Tabet, Mary-Tyler Upshaw, Anne Binkley, William Willis, and SU student interns Alex Cooper, Alex Vennos, McCabe Dignam and Hunter Lupro.

The performance marks the final under the direction of PRESTO’s founder, Dr. Sachi Murasugi (though she will continue to teach in the program). Beginning in 2017, PRESTO moves from the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts to SU’s new Center for Extended and Lifelong Learning.
