SU's Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Earns Key Award

 Salisbury University’s chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International

SALISBURY, MD---Lambda Eta, Salisbury University’s chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) honor society of nursing, has received the Chapter Key Award.

Conklin (left) and WillelySince 1991, the award, given at biennial conventions, recognizes STTI chapters that excel in activities including membership recruitment and retention; publicity and programming; professional and leadership development; and local, national and international collaboration.  This is the second time SU’s chapter has received the award, said Dr. Jeffrey Willey, chapter president, who teaches in SU’s Department of Nursing.

At a recent induction ceremony, Willey presented Denise Conklin (pictured) of Peninsula Regional Medical Center with first ever Lambda Eta Lifetime Service Award for her 25th year of service to the board.

Only 78 chapters from three global regions received the 2013 Chapter Key Award. There are currently 490 chapters in 85 countries.
