SU's McDermott Awarded Fulbright to Romania
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. E. Patrick McDermott, professor of management and law in Salisbury University’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, has been awarded a Fulbright to the University of Bucharest in Romania.
He will teach commercial arbitration and employment law, and research workplace dispute resolution during the 2018-19 academic year.
This is McDermott’s second Fulbright. Previously, he spent 2007-08 as a professor of law at East China University of Political Science and Law in Shanghai.
“I am grateful that Salisbury University provides strong support for the Fulbright program, encouraging faculty to teach and research abroad in numerous Fulbright assignments,” McDermott said.
SU was recently spotlighted by The Chronicle of Higher Education as one of the nation’s top producers of both Fulbright Scholars in 2015-16 and Fulbright Students in 2017-18. Over 30 faculty, students, alumni and others from SU have earned Fulbrights over the years.
The Fulbright Scholar Program is America’s flagship international exchange program and is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
