University Statement on Temporary Travel Ban

On Friday, January 27, President Trump issued an executive order imposing a 90-day ban on citizens entering the United States from seven countries: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Yemen. According to SU’s Center for International Education, the University has no current students on non-immigrant student visas (F-1 or J-1) from any of these countries.  At this time, we are not aware of any impact on the broader campus community.

That said, we recognize that the possibility of changing immigration laws may cause significant concern for some of our campus community.  If and when we receive additional or clarifying information, we will share it as appropriate and provide the support that is necessary.  Those seeking guidance or advice about planned international travel should contact SU’s Center for International Education.

Salisbury University will continue to comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.  This includes FERPA, which protects student information from disclosure, absent a court order or subpoena.
