SU Celebrates Thank A Teacher Week

Each May, the University System of Maryland Council for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning joins the Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation in planning teacher recognition activities as part of Thank a Teacher Week. This year is no different. The USM is using the week to engage students and alumni in honoring excellent teachers across the system – teachers who have inspired them and made a difference in their lives.

In honor of Thank A Teacher Week, Salisbury University invites you to “Thank A Teacher.” At SU, we recognize and celebrate our exceptional faculty at all levels for their tireless commitment to teaching, research, service, mentorship, innovation and transformative impact on students, the University and society.

To help you share your thanks, look for tables at the Guerrieri Academic Commons and Student Union outside of Chick-Fil-A where you can fill out thank you postcards for your faculty and drop them off for delivery.

Thank A Teacher Week is a time to recognize the important role of our nation’s future educators in shaping the next generation of learners. SU applauds its student teaching interns and future educators, who work in 43 schools and 7 counties through SU’s nationally recognized Professional Development School Partnerships. Soon they will be prepared to go into their own classrooms to guide students of their own as they discover, learn and grow.
