Registration Open for New Student Summer Outdoor Programs

NSE BrochureSALISBURY, MD---Registration is open for Salisbury University’s New Student Experience Summer Outdoor Programs.

Available only to incoming first-year students, the 2018 courses are: Bike, Beach & Beyond (July 13-17); Acadia Adventure (July 14-24); Achieve at Assateague (July 30-August 3); and Algonquin Canoe (August 11-22).

Students may earn three credits for each. Enrollment is first-come, first-served. Spaces are limited.

For more than 35 years, SU’s outdoor programs have provided new students the opportunity to build friendships, challenge themselves and learn about college life – even before the first day of classes. Students get acquainted with SU, and develop a supportive network of peers and faculty and staff mentors, prior to the semester.

Bike, Beach and Beyond is an on-campus program designed to acclimate students to the Salisbury community and the Eastern Shore. Acadia Adventure allows them to explore a coastal Maine island by hiking, biking and camping in Acadia National Park. Algonquin Canoe takes students to camp and canoe in Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada. Achieve at Assateague offers leadership development, teambuilding and camping activities while exploring a nearby barrier island.

To contact the course directors or download a brochure for more information, visit the New Student Experience website. Registration is conducted through students’ GullNet accounts and instructions are available on the last page of the brochure.
