Graduate Nursing Program Receives Grant for Professional Nurse Traineeship Program
SALISBURY, MD---The graduate division of Salisbury State University's Department of Nursing was recently awarded a grant of $16,511 from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Health Professions, for support of the Professional Nurse Traineeship Program administrated by Dr. Karen Badros, SSU's graduate nursing program director.
The grant, available to students enrolled in SSU's National League for Nursing accredited Masters of Science program for family nursing in rural areas, provides funds for students to enable them to decrease employment hours and enroll in full-time study. The majority of students entered in one of the programs three tracks--administration, clinical specialization or family practitioner--usually work full-time while pursing their graduate degree.
