SU Hosts 'National Poetry Month Read-In Celebrating African American Poetry'
SALISBURY, MD---The City of Salisbury’s first poet laureate, Nancy Mitchell, reads from her works and discusses her new position during Salisbury University’s inaugural African American History Month read-in.
SU Libraries presents the “National Poetry Month Read-In Celebrating African American Poetry” 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Dr. Ernie Bond Curriculum Resource Center, Conway Hall Room 226.
Those attending also are invited to read from their works or a piece by an African American poet. Several edited collections and monographs, along with lyrics from rapper Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album Damn, will be available.
