SU Hosts Shred Day Wednesday, April 24
SALISBURY, MD---Have documents to shred or small electronics to recycle? Salisbury University can help.
SU’s Student United Way chapter hosts Shred Day noon-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in Red Square. Curbside pickup will be available via golf cart from Route 13 Parking Lot B, in front of the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons. Golf carts may be requested by calling 410-353-3960.
Cost is 80 cents per pound, benefiting the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. Those bringing materials will be able to watch them being shredded on site.
New this semester is electronics recycling. Electronics may be dropped off for free, but donations are encouraged. For a list of the electronics accepted visit https://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/sustainability-center/recycling-services/electronics.
The weight of paper shredded and electronics recycled will count toward the organization’s total in that day’s Recycle Madness program, sponsored by the SU Student Government Association.
Through that event, student organizations compete to see which can bring in the most recyclables by pound. Winners receive cash prizes and bragging rights.
