SSO Performs ‘Holiday Reinventions’ Concert December 12
SALISBURY, MD---Despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, the show will go on for the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at Salisbury University (SSO), with its annual holiday concert, “Holiday Reinventions,” available 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, online and on PAC 14.
Directed by Jeffrey Schoyen, the chamber concert features works ranging from baroque to postmodern by composers reinventing traditional forms and reflecting on the works of others. Songs include Arvo Pärt’s “Fratres,” Ernest Bloch’s “Concerto Grosso for Strings and Piano,” Johann Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” H. Leslie Adams’ “Violin Sonata” and Jacob ter Veldhuis’ “Tatatata.”
Surprise appearances from past SSO guest soloists, who continue to work around the world making music, also will be featured.
