Nabb Center's 'Baseball on Delmarva' Available Online for Fall Semester
Salisbury, MD---The Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture brings America’s favorite pastime to your home with the online exhibit “Friends and Rivals: Baseball on Delmarva.”
Throughout the 20th century, in the ballparks and backyards of small towns on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia, the most popular summer activity was attending or playing baseball. This exhibition looks at the history and heritage of baseball on the Delmarva Peninsula and the role it played in the local communities that embraced the national pastime.
The exhibit is free and open to the public, and can be accessed online.
Though its facilities are closed to the public, the Nabb Center still has much to share with the community virtually. The internet archive shares hundreds of previously inaccessible sources, including public high school yearbooks, audio recordings and more. Explore Nabb Center’s Flickr galleries for online photograph collections with nearly 10,000 images available.
