SU’s Jackson Chamber Music Series Welcomes Ayreheart
SALISBURY, MD---The Peter and Judy Jackson Chamber Music Series at Salisbury University returns with a performance by the trio Ayreheart 7 p.m. Monday, October 11, at Asbury United Methodist Church (1401 Camden Ave.).
Ayreheart was founded by Grammy-nominated lutenist Ronn McFarlane. He is joined by Willard Morris on colascione (bass lute) and Mattias Rucht on percussion. Their program, “Ayres of Albion,” with guest soprano Sarah Pillow, features two seemingly different genres in one program. Combining music from Renaissance England, Scotland and Wales with folk music from the same period, Ayreheart not only shows the surprising parallels in the music from this era, but makes it accessible in a modern context.
The Peter and Judy Jackson Chamber Music Series provides opportunities for live chamber music concerts to be heard and enjoyed on the Eastern Shore.
Tickets are free and the public is invited. Tickets must be obtained in advance through the online performing arts box office.
