SSO Presents ‘Into the Forest’ Spring Concert
SALISBURY, MD---The Salisbury Symphony Orchestra at Salisbury University (SSO) performs a spring chamber concert, “Into the Forest,” available 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 27 through 11 p.m. Monday, March 29, in a virtual format.
Directed by Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, the chamber concert features a range of works celebrating and highlighting the beauty of the forest and its trees. Pieces in the concerts include Johann Strauss Jr.’s Tales from the Vienna Woods; Edward MacDowell’s “Selections from Woodland Sketches”; Handel’s “Concerto Grosso,” op. 6, no. 2; and Mozart’s “Piano Concerto in F.”
Pianist Ernest Barretta will join the ensemble as guest soloist. Violist Rita Porfiris and violinist Anton Miller will also make special guest appearances.
