SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University students recently put their geography trivia skills to the test during the American Association of Geographers (AAG) student bowl at the organization’s Mid-Atlantic division annual meeting.

One of SU’s teams, including senior earth science major David Bair, of Hagerstown, MD, earned first place.

“I was proud of the breadth of knowledge from SU’s students,” said Bair. “We had a group with diverse interests and subject expertise who all were able to tackle a variety of topics making us a really well-rounded team.”

Bair’s teammates included Colin Planta of Mt. Airy, MD; Konrad Nabakowski of La Plata, MD; Anna Long of Salisbury; and Joe Enfinger of Chesapeake Beach, MD.

“It’s rewarding to experience academic successes outside of the classroom,” said Bair. “It can be daunting to step out of your comfort zone and test your knowledge. Ultimately, it was a fun challenge that helped boost confidence in the variety of things we’re learning in our courses.”

Other SU participants included Orion Tash of Leesburg, VA; Elizabeth Murphy of Bel Air, MD; Elliot Petty of Rohrersville, MD; Joshua Baker of West River, MD; Leanna Morris of Pittsville, MD; Beren Raizen of Hebron, MD; and Justin Shelburne of Silver Spring, MD.
