WNBC Reporter Discusses Rise to Major Market March 6

SALISBURY, MD---WNBC journalist Romney Smith discusses her rise from a small-market reporter to New York City 3 p.m. Monday, March 6, in Room 153 of Salisbury University’s Conway Hall.

She speaks about her work at stations in several markets and her contributions to those communities. Having worked in small and large news markets, Smith shares valuable insights into the television news business and working in a team environment.

A member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Smith began her career in Albany, GA, before making stops in Jacksonville, MS; Savannah, GA; and Cleveland before joining WNBC in New York in 2021.

She has earned two regional Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award.

Admission is free and the public is invited. Those planning to park on campus must register in advance for a free parking pass.
