Weather Update for June 29 SU Carillon Concert Series Event

SALISBURY, MD---Guest performer Laura Ellis inaugurates Salisbury University’s Brown and Church Summer Carillon Series of concerts 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29.

The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) has issued a “Code Red” air quality alert across Maryland’s Eastern Shore until midnight due to fine air particles related to wild fire smoke from the Great Lakes region which is impacting the air across Maryland.

With a “Code Red” alert, MDE suggests “everyone should avoid prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion. Those with respiratory and/or heart ailments may experience more

serious health effects.”

Those interested in the concert are encouraged to keep this advisory in mind when deciding whether to attend. The community is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy music from The Square or Perdue Hall Lawn, both adjacent to the Saumeul R. Brown and William D. Church Carillon at SU’s Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons.

Upcoming concerts in the series include Annie Gao on Saturday, July 8; Lisa Lonie on Friday, July 28; Doug Gefvert on Thursday, August 3; and Jesse Ratcliffe on Friday, August 11.
